Method — exactly what these numbers can say
Source: extracted.coffee's price ledger. Our scanner visits tracked listings through the day, every day, and records a history row on first sight and on every verified change. Ledger recording in this form began 7 July 2026.
A price change counts only when the SAME listing was observed at both prices by our scanner (consecutive ledger rows). Seller-claimed "was" prices are never used.
The denominator for each category is listings we actually observed in the window — not our full catalog, and not the market. "Median change" is the median absolute change among paired changes only.
Sellers are shops we track that ship to the UK; some ship from abroad. Categories follow our product-cluster assignments, which are our own work — the underlying catalog does not group sellers' listings.
Editions are computed once, dated, and never edited. If we ever correct one, the correction will be visible as a new edition, not a silent change.
